The Private Equity Group and the Polsky Center were delighted to host the 12th Annual Private Equity Conference and thank the conference attendees, speakers, and sponsors for making the event a success. We enjoyed record attendance at the event and look forward to another exciting conference in 2014.
The Private Equity Conference (PEC) is an annual event that brings together financiers, students, and
entrepreneurs to network and share insights into the dynamics of investing in a constantly changing economy. The PEC aims to provide high value to private equity practitioners by combining knowledge from both the industry and academia that would be hard to find in any other setting. Through a series of engaging keynote addresses and panel sessions, leading industry individuals offer expertise and thought leadership on issues important to both the financier and entrepreneur.
Themed "The New Vanguard: Success & Differentiation in a Challenging Marketplace" the 2013 event featured several prominent private equity industry leaders: Howard Marks, Co-Founder and Chairman of Oaktree Capital Management; Bruce Rauner, Chairman of R8 Capital Partners and former Chairman of GTCR; James A. Quella, Senior Managing Director and Senior Operating Partner at Blackstone; and John A. Canning, Jr., Co-Founder and Chairman of Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC. The conference also included an exciting lineup of panel discussions, followed by a cocktail & networking reception to close out the day.
