The Chicago Booth Distressed Investing and Restructuring Group is a student-led career-focused group. Prior to 2008 the group was known as the Turnaround and Restructuring Group, however with an increasing interest on the principal investing side of distressed enterprises the group adjusted its focus and changed its name. Our group focuses on educating students about the many different aspects of distressed investing and restructuring, including:
- Turnaround consulting,
- Financial restructuring advisory,
- Principal investing in distressed companies or securities and
- Other legal or regulatory issues surrounding the industry.
This website provides current students with resources to prepare for their job search, and recruiters with useful information to get access to an unmatched pool of talent.
As the financial crisis claims more companies, the Chicago Booth Distressed Investing and Restructuring Group is here to help educate our members through interactions with industry professionals leading the restructuring and recovery efforts at these companies. There has never been a better or more important time to join the group that will bring the professionals making the deals to your doorstep to explain the process and the politics of turning a company around.
